Setting Up Your Trezor

Step 1: Connect Your Trezor to Your Computer

  • Plug the Trezor device into your computer using the provided USB cable.

  • Visit the official Trezor website (trezor.io/start) to begin the setup process.

  • Download and install the Trezor Bridge or Trezor Suite software, which allows your computer to communicate with the Trezor device.

Step 2: Initialize Your Trezor Device

  • Follow the on-screen instructions to initialize your Trezor.

  • Choose the option to create a new wallet. This process generates a unique set of private keys that will be securely stored on your Trezor.

Step 3: Write Down Your Recovery Seed

  • Your Trezor will display a 24-word recovery seed. This is crucial: it’s the only way to recover your wallet if your device is lost or damaged.

  • Carefully write down the seed words on the provided recovery seed card. Do not store it digitally or share it with anyone.

  • Verify that you have written down the recovery seed correctly by entering the words in the correct order when prompted by the Trezor.

Step 4: Set Up a PIN

  • Create a secure PIN for your Trezor. This adds an extra layer of security, ensuring that even if someone gets physical access to your device, they cannot access your funds without the PIN.

  • Confirm your PIN by entering it again. Avoid simple PINs and sequences.
